Who answers for your data

cysticacne.net is run as a standalone site, and the site itself is responsible for the data described here. Questions, requests or complaints about your data go to privacy@cysticacne.net.

What the site records

How the counting works

Your browser sends visit counts to an address on this site, /api/glimpse. From there they go to an analytics provider (EU), which keeps them on servers inside the European Union. Your IP address is passed on so that a rough location can be worked out. A random code in session storage ties together the pages of one visit and is erased when the tab closes, so two separate visits cannot be linked. Counting uses no cookies. Visitors in the EU are only counted after they choose "Allow".

The analysis link

"Start my analysis" and the other analysis links pass through cysticacne.net/cyst-scan and continue to acne.today, a separate paid service. The link tells acne.today that you came from this site, which button you used, and the sorter result if you had one. Anything you give acne.today, such as photos, answers or payment details, is covered by its own privacy policy.
